How do I make an enquiry?
When you find a property you like in the search results, simply click on the ‘more details’ link and this will take you to the property showcase page.
The property showcase page will give you a full description of the property and selection of photos to view. At the bottom of this page is an orange ‘Make an Enquiry’ button.
Just click on this and it will take you to a simple form. You will be asked for your name, contact details (so the owner can reply to you) and there is space for you to enter your question. Just press ‘send’ and then sit back and wait for the owner to come back to you.
How do I search for a property
On almost every page on the site, we have a brown search box at the top. You can type in specific requirements such type of property, the number of bedrooms you are looking for, location, or you can leave the search open.
On the left navigation, there are also tabs that enable you to simply view all the properties, just the latest properties that have been recently added to the site, or just those with a current special offer.
How can I check availability?
Once you have found your perfect holiday property and decided to book, you first need to check whether it's available for your dates.
You can do this on the property showcase page. There is a mini calendar underneath the photos which shows all the dates the property is booked marked in black, and free dates are easily visible.
If the dates you need are free, then you can click on the black ‘Book this Property Now’ tab, and follow the instructions to book!
How do I book a property?
From the property showcase page, choose the black ‘Book this Property
Now’ tab underneath the main description. This will take you to a new
page where you will be asked to enter all your details. You will need
to enter your name, address, contact details (phone and email) and
information about your holiday – the dates you are looking for, the
number of people in your party etc.
This form will be sent to the owner and your dates will be
provisionally blanked off in the ‘Check Availability’ calendar to
prevent someone else booking them by mistake. The owner will then
contact you to arrange to take your deposit payment and provide you
with the relevant details about your holiday.
Some owners are able to accept Paypal payments. If the owner of the
property you have selected offers this option, your booking form will
automatically take you to Paypal where you can make your payment
immediately online to secure your booking. If you do this, you will
need your credit or debit card details to hand.
What happens after I pay a deposit?
You will be asked by the owner to pay a deposit to secure your booking. The amount of this deposit may vary from owner to owner and property to property. You may be able to pay by cheque, or some owners accept Paypal payments online.
Please don't assume your booking has been accepted until your deposit payment has cleared. Please wait for confirmation from the owner that they can accept your booking before paying for flights, or anything else for your holiday which is dependent on your dates.
Once your deposit payment has cleared and the owner has confirmed your booking, you should then recieve all the details you need from the owner for your holiday. This may include directions to the property, any special instructions and details of how to access the property and / or where the key is located. Please ensure you take all these details with you when you travel.
What happens when I arrive at the property?
Once your booking is confirmed, the owner should pass on all the
relevant details to you. But here’s a quick checklist! Make sure you
ask for and receive all the following:
1. The full address of the property (especially if you are planning on taking a taxi from the airport).
2. If possible, directions on how to reach the property – useful if driving yourself there.
3. Instructions on where to find or collect the key.
4. Details for the local management agent, including an emergency telephone number – preferably 24 hours (you never know!)
5. Where at the property instructional notes or a house book can be
found. This should contain details and instructions for air
conditioning, water heating, TV / Hi-fi equipment etc.
6. It’s always useful to take the owner’s contact details away with
you too, just in case you should need to contact them during your stay.
7. Please remember, your holiday is arranged direct with the owner.
Menorca Holidays Direct can accept no liability for any part of the
booking, or holiday process. Please make sure you are adequately
insured for any delay, loss or damage that you may incur while on
holiday.
What if I have a problem while I'm on holiday?
It is the propety owner's responsibility to ensure everything at the property is as it should be. Your holiday property should be clean, tidy and safe when you arrive.
Please treat your holiday property with the respect you would your own home. Please be careful with equipment, furniture and fixtures and fittings. Accidents do happen of course, and if this is the case, please inform the management company so that they can arrange for any items to be fixed or replaced, hopefully in time for the rest of your holiday, or for the next family.
If you have any problems, or are dissatisfied with any aspect of your holiday property, let the management agent know immediately. The owner should have provided you with their details. They will be on hand and close by and should be able to deal with your problem quickly and efficiently. Don't wait until you get home to tell the owner something was wrong...it's much better to get things sorted out while you are there.
Please note that as your holiday is arranged direct with the property owner and has nothing to do with Menorca Holidays Direct. If you feel the property has been misrepresented in the advert, please let us know and we can advise the owner.
Please ensure you have adequate holiday insurance which covers you for all eventualities, including accident or illness abroad.
